Not So Fast Bobby! Judge Gives the OK for Bobbi Kristina Movie!
It looks like all of Bobby Brown's hard work trying to thwart the premiere of TVOne's biopic on Bobbi Kristina has been permanently halted. According to the New York Post the case went before "Manhattan federal Judge Analisa Torres" who said "Brown’s concerns that the 'Bobbi Kristina' film defames him is 'speculative' because he has neither seen the film nor read the script.
"The judge also took issue with Brown’s complaints that the film might be defamatory even if it does depict him as a bad dad who hit his ex-wife, Whitney Houston — noting that he admitted to having once 'smacked' the songbird in his 2016 autobiography."
“Whether Bobby Brown was a bad father is a matter of opinion,” the judge said. She then quoted part of a line from Brown’s memoir “Every Little Step,” in which he says, “I turned around to her, drew back my hand, and smacked her (Houston) across the face” — a moment he said he quickly regretted. The “My Prerogative” singer’s $2 million defamation lawsuit against TV One will still move forward, however, with the next conference scheduled for Nov. 13th.–– ADVERTISEMENT ––In addition to trying to stop the film, Brown claims producers from a 2004 Bravo TV reality show, “Being Bobby Brown,” improperly used information from that film without the crooner’s permission."
Welp, looks like we'll all get a chance to see the film that has so many feathers ruffled! Will you be tuning in for the premiere Sunday October 8th?
