Nelly's Accuser Likely Dropping the Case. "She Believes the System is Going to Fail Her.&qu
It looks like Nelly's accuser won't be meeting him again in court. . . if the case even makes it there. About a week ago Nelly was accused of raping a woman on his tour bus after an after party. The woman said that he had unprotected sex with her even though she repeatedly said she didn't want to. After the alleged assault happened, the woman went to the police, Nelly was arrested and released and an entire internet lost it's mind!
Well according to TMZ:
The woman's attorney says her client has told the Auburn PD in Washington State, and the King County D.A. to "put a halt to the criminal investigation of [Nelly]. She will not testify further in a criminal proceeding against him."
Her attorney says the young woman feels the system has failed her and she can't stand up to a celebrity. "Who will believe her. People are saying horrible things already. She cannot handle this. She is about to break."
The attorney, Karen Koehler, says the woman was especially dismayed by the fact police told the media she had met with them and prosecutors ... after she was assured no one would know about the meeting until the investigation was closed.
The accuser's refusal to testify would make it very difficult, although not impossible, for prosecutors to move forward with a case. "
The statement from her attorney also says that "Every step of the way since she called 911, she wishes she had not. Not because what happened didn't occur exactly the way she described it. Not because she did not want the police to charge the celebrity with alleged rape. She wishes she had not called 911 because she believes the system is going to fail her."
