Racist School Bus Driver Drags Biracial Boy Then Says "I'm not racist my dog is black"
Our WTF moment of the day comes from the good ol' state of Utah where a known racist school bus driver decided to drag a child with his school bus! 78-year-old John Naisbitt is accused of (even though it's caught on camera) shutting the bus doors on the child (who is bi-racial), catching him by the backpack and dragging the 14-year-old boy for a solid 20 seconds while other children screamed for him to stop. Naisbitt claims he had no clue the child hadn't exited the bus completely but, the boy's parents are calling foul!
As it turns out, this isn't the first (or second) time Naisbitt has been accused of improper conduct when it came to a chid of color!
According to Fox 13:
"Allegations include Naisbitt closing doors on two other biracial boys, calling students “stupid” and “idiots,” and failing to stop a white girl from assaulting a younger Asian girl."
The boy's mother, Brenda Mayes, says that she doesn't understand how any of this could have happened. Naisbitt had her son caught in the doors of the school bus, dragging him 175 feet, close to the wheels of the bus.
“I was glad he didn’t kill him,” Mayes said. “I was glad he didn’t go under the wheel.”
Mayes says the district didn’t take any action against Naisbitt. She argues he was not removed from the route the day her child was assaulted.
“Something failed,” Mayes said. “They have a responsibility when I send [my kids] off to school, they have a responsibility to make sure they are safe."
To prevent getting fired over the incident, Naisbitt said he retired three days later."
Naisbitt claims that he told all of the children on the bus that he was moving forward and for them to stay on the bus. Something that doesn't quite add up to the video that was captured on the bus' security footage.
When asked if he was racist, Naisbitt replied:
“Not at all. No. Look at my dog. He’s as black as could be."
Welp, we guess that settles it. You can't be racist and own black pets!
The lawsuit filed by Mayes and her family is still pending asking for unspecified damages.
What do you think would be adequate compensation for this crime? Let's chat about this in the comments below!
