Former TV Bailiff and County Sheriff Arrested for Murdering His Wife.
Patricia Spivey's family describes her as loving and admit that she's "gone to soon" after her husband, Renard Spivey, has been arrested for her murder. Renard Spivey is a veteran deputy of the Harris County Sheriff's Office and was off-duty when he placed a call to 9-1-1 at 3am Sunday morning. Spivey says there had been an accidental shooting at his residence.
When paramedics arrived they found Spivey with a gunshot to the leg and his wife, Patricia Spivey, was dead.
Deputy Renard Spivey was not only an officer with the Harris County Sheriff's Office, he had formerly worked as an actor, most recently as the baliff on the TV show "Justice for All with Judge Cristina Perez" from 2012 to 2016. Those acting skills may have come into play when "staging" the death of his wife.
ABC 13 tells us that "the Harris County Sheriff's Office says it has no record of any domestic violence issues involving Deputy Spivey. He remains in the hospital.
Court documents say that Spivey may have a mental illness or an intellectual disability. He will get a mental health assessment."
Of course no one will ever truly know what happened between Renard and Patricia early Sunday morning but, we're hoping that the family does receive closure. No one deserves to die at the hands of someone they love.
We're interested to see how this plays out in the end. We'll keep you posted as updates become available.
