Houston Police Officer Responding to a Suicide Call, Hits, Kills Cyclist.

Last night, shortly before 10pm, as he was responding to a suicide attempt call a Houston police officer struck and killed a person riding on a bicycle.

Dashcam video from another motorist shows the unidentified cyclist riding across a four lane street. The cyclist takes precautions going over the first side, then crossing the median. It's then that the cruiser comes into view and strikes the victim.

The officer was riding to the call, without lights and sirens.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has not been publicly identified even though his family has been notified. The person responsible for the video recording says that he knows the victim and his family.
