92-Year-Old Woman Found Murdered on New York Street!
Police were called to a street in Queens, NY after a call came in shortly after midnight for an unresponsive person. The initial thought was that the woman had fallen and become injured. 92-year-old Maria Fuertes was found lying along 127th Street in Richmond Hill, not far from her home. She was later pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital.
Reports say that Fuertes suffered skull fractures, back injuries and bruises.
Fuertes was a lifelong resident of the neighborhood and was known for her love of cats. Neighbors say that she often left her home late at night to go to the store to buy cat food and they wonder if that was what she was doing when she met her end.
The NYPD released surveillance photos of a possible suspect and asked for the public's help in identifying the man they believed to be involved. The, still unnamed, man has been taken into custody.
There is no word yet if the suspect in custody has been charged with a crime or if there was a motive for Ms. Fuertes' murder.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782)
