Cops Wife Dies While Trapped in a Hot Police Cruiser!
We've all heard of the horrible cases of babies and toddlers who die in "hot cars" but, we've rarely, if ever, heard of it happening to an adult!
A Miami, Florida woman died last Friday after becoming trapped in the back of her husband's police cruiser. The Miami Herald reports that 56-year-old Clara Paulino "climbed into the backseat of his marked Ford Explorer SUV in search of something, then could not escape when the doors somehow closed and a self-locking mechanism kicked in.
As the temperature outside soared well over 90 degrees on Friday, Paulino spent several hours stuck inside the SUV until her family discovered her body after 5 p.m., according to one law-enforcement source. Miami-Dade detectives found her fingerprints all over the inside of the SUV."
'Clearly, she was panicked and trying to get out,' the source told the Miami Herald."
Paulino's husband,Aristides Paulino, 58, was inside sleeping after working a night shift and didn't notice his wife's absence. He has been on the force for 25-years and the couple has been married for 38-years.
The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office is still investigating the incident and has not determined a concrete cause of death at this moment. Paulino did suffer from several medical conditions that could have that could have contributed to her untimely death.
For now, her death is being treated as an accident.
Paulino's son, Aristides Paulino, says that they haven't even begun to come to terms with her death and have planned her memorial services.
This is a horrible way for anybody to die. Prayers for the Paulino family.
