Six Dead in South Carolina House Fire. One Person Injured and One Man Has Been Arrested!

A house on fire in a quiet South Carolina residential area ended up being more than just a blaze. What first responders found in the burning building was everyone's nightmare. Seven people had been inside the home now, six were dead and one was clinging to life.

According to WCSC News The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house fire on Folly Creek Lane in Greenpond around 11 a.m. Sunday. One person was transported to an area hospital by CARE flight in critical condition, deputies said.

33-year-old Ryan Lenard Manigo was arrested in connection with the fire and charged with attempted murder of the surviving victim. Those charges could be increased if their condition worsens and more could be added pending autopsy reports of the deceased victims.

Agents from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division’s Arson Unit, Crime Scene Unit and Special Victim’s Unit are assisting with the investigation.

Manigo was being held in the Colleton County Detention Center.
