One thing about Kevin Fredericks, he's gonna work HARD! Known professionally as KevOnStage, Fredericks rose to social media fame 12 years ago when he took part in a video that launched his comedic career. In the video, "Stuff Black Church Girls Say", Fredericks, along with his brother and friend mimicked the hilarious commentary and conversations held between women in church. If you forgot how funny it is, we'll let you refresh your memory.

Yes, I can confirm that as a Black church girl, I have said almost every single word uttered in this video! The trio, known then as "The Playmakers", had great aspirations as a group but, it was KevOnStage who broke the ground for a bigger vision. Kev began cranking out projects independently, promoting them himself, casting his family and friends and reaching the masses. His first full-length film, "The Family Exchange", that he wrote, directed and cast was so good, I personally bought digital copies for everyone in my family for Christmas.

That film, which has a cameo of Hollywood great Issa Rae, paved the way for KevOnStage Studios. KOSS is a streaming app that hosts tons of independent content that rivals anything you'll see on Paramount, Tubi or Peacock. Kev, backed by his loyal fans called "The Stage Krew", funded the formation of the brick and mortar studio, all of the content and it's so good, he's won an NAACP Image Award for it!

As a t-shirt wearing, subscription having, Patreon supporting member of The Stage Krew, I am over the moon after hearing the news of Kev's most recent ventures. Not only does he co-host a new show on TBS with Nina Parker called "Friday Night Vibes", he's also landed a deal with BET+ for his original series "Churchy"! Check out the trailer!

"Churchy" stars KevOnStage, Jonathan Slocumb, Lexie Allen and is packed with hilarious moments that some church kids might find a little too familiar! At least, I know I've seen a few of these scenarios before.

I can't even express how proud we are of Kev! This is a win for every independent filmmaker who has a dream, a few friends and a lot of strong work ethic! "Churchy" will premiere on BET+ on February 15, 2024. We can't wait to watch it!
