Straight Out of a Movie! Child Tells Babysitter "There's a Monster Under My Bed". She Checks and Finds an Intruder!

A Great Bend, Kansas babysitter found herself in a scene from a movie Monday night when she went to check on the children!

Police reports state tha the unidentified babysitter was alone in the home and putting the children to bed around 10:30pm. One of the children told the sitter that they couldn't get into bed because they were afraid. When questioned the child said there was "a monster" under their bed. In order to reassure the child the babysitter bent down to check and came face to face with a strange man!

The man physically assaulted the sitter, and the child, knocking them both to the ground before fleeing the home. By the time the police arrived, the man was no where to be found.

Until later.

Police continued their search for the man into the morning when he was located again, near the home. There was a short pursuit but he was caught and taken into custody.

Police report that the man used to be a resident of the home but was prohibited from being there due to a protective order.

The 27-year-old man has been booked into the Barton County Jail on suspicion of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, child endangerment, felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and violation of a protection from abuse order. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.

This had to have been both terrifying and traumatic for the sitter and the children!

Parents, make sure that your children who are old enough to babysit know how to do CPR, put out a small fire and protect themselves just in case!
