Tennessee Man Arrested and Charged with Fatally Stabbing and Strangling His Fiancee.
A Memphis, Tennessee man had been on the run for days after his fiancee' was found brutally murdered in her home.
On April 15 police received a call from a frantic family member after going to the home of a relative. Upon entering the residence they found the body of Carlotta Wilson face down in a pool of blood with a brown belt around her neck inside an apartment on Goodlett Road.
Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene by EMTs and the police set out looking for clues. Inside of Wilson's apartment they found a bloody red shirt and bloody red/yellow shorts were found nearby.
They also found a folding knife, wrapped in paper towel, inside of a toilet in the Master bedroom of the home.
After canvassing the area, police found a witness who offered a clue. They'd seen someone wearing the exact same outfit earlier that day. The witness said that they say Wilson's fiancee, Nocomus Harris, dressed in similar clothing at the apartment when she dropped off her child for Wilson to babysit.
Then, police noticed that Wilson's car wasn't in the parking lot and went on a search for it.
Police tracked the woman's missing car to a location in Lauderdale County.
Tennessee Highway Patrol officers located her wrecked car in Dyer County the following day, and Harris was found at a residence at 311 N. Connell Ave. in Dyersburg.
He was positively identified in a photo lineup by the witness who dropped off the child.
Harris, 45, was charged with first-degree murder and tampering/fabricating evidence, police said. He is currently behind bars with a $5 million bond.
