Tennessee Mother Jumps to Her Death Cradling Her Toddler in Her Arms.
The body of a woman and child were recovered from a Tennessee interstate in Madison County early Monday morning.
Tennessee News 3 reports that the "Madison County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded just after midnight to a crash at the Shell Station on Law Road, just south of exit 93 on Interstate 40 east of Jackson.
While deputies were en route, they said they received additional calls of a female driver attempting to hit the gas pump. Witnesses reported the woman got out of the vehicle with a small child, walked over to the interstate overpass and disappeared."
Police received a call shortly thereafter from a driver saying that as he was driving westbound on I-40 something heavy fell onto the road.
When police arrived they found the bodies of 26-year-old Tonisha Lashay Barker and a child whom a relative confirmed was Barker's 21-month-old son Jonathan Jones.
Barker’s grandmother said that Barker had been depressed after her job ended last month at a COVID-19 testing site.
