Will Smith Completely Nails it in "King Richard" Portrayal of Venus and Serena Williams' Father!

"King Richard" is a biopic chronicling the life of Richard Williams, the father of star tennis players Venus and Serena Williams. Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, Smith is joined by Aunjanue Ellis ("Lovecraft Country", "The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel") as Oracene “Brandi” Williams, Saniyya Sidney ("Fences" 2016) as Venus Williams, Demi Singleton ("The Lion King" on Broadway) as Serena Williams, and Jon Bernthal ("The Wolf of Wallstreet") as coach Rick Macci.
The film's synopsis calls it a “profoundly moving film shows the power of family, perseverance, and unwavering belief as a means to achieve the impossible—and truly change the world. Based on the true story, King Richard follows the journey of Richard Williams (Will Smith), an undeterred father raising two of the most extraordinarily gifted athletes of all time—Venus and Serena Williams—who will alter the sport of tennis forever. Witness a father’s vision for his children’s future, his unconventional methods, and his love as he executes a brilliant plan to take his daughters from the streets of Compton, California to the global stage.”

Venus and Serena Williams are both credited as producers on this project and have described their father as "revolutionary" when it came to his parenting and coaching style.
The anticipation for the film actually started a bidding war, several lawsuits and ruffled some feathers but, it's coming to the big screen, and your home theaters, anyway! The drama of "King Richard" arrives in theaters on Nov. 19, and will also be available on HBO Max for 31 days from the theatrical release.
